In 2009 Anne Alexander and David Canning recognised and valued the trust that clients place in Financial Advisers. Between them they had over 40 years Financial Industry experience and decided to create a more personal and bespoke service.
Getting to know our clients' needs, lifestyle and financial ambitions is important to us and we believe the only way to achieve this is through a strong and trusting relationship.
This new way of providing Independent Financial Advice, which welcomes increased contact with our clients, is embraced by our professional and dedicated team.
David is a founding Director of MacKenzie Taylor Asset Management and has over 25 years experience in Pensions and Investments. He is a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society.
On graduating from Glasgow University in Mathematics, David was recruited by Hymans Robertson for a career in Actuarial Consultancy. After 4 years he became increasingly interested in the Financial Services sector and continued for another 3 years in this role with the same company. After helping to establish the Glasgow Office for P.I.F.C, David moved on to head up the Pensions Department at Campbell Dallas Financial Services. While there he continued to develop his professional expertise, complete industry examinations and train both support staff and independent Financial Advisers. He enjoys guiding his team while giving the best of service to clients and this created the spark for his own company, MacKenzie Taylor Asset Management.
When he's not at work, David is a keen historian and amateur archaeologist. If you want to know anything (and we do mean anything) about ancient Rome just ask him. But only if you have time to spare. He can often be heard trying to share this knowledge with his wife Claire and 2 children. He also enjoys golf and hillwalking (mostly to seek out Roman Forts...)
Carol has been in the financial services industry since 1993. She started her career with Friends Provident, before leaving in 1996 to assist in the creation of Bell Buchanan FM Ltd, a new IFA Firm, where in addition to sales support administration she handled Compliance, T&C, Operation and Finance functions. In 2002 Carol was recruited by Campbell Dallas Financial Services, where she started as Pensions Administrator and progressed to Office Manager.
On successfully completing the Financial Planning Certificate exams, Carol advanced to Account Manager, handling Group Pension, Health and Group Risk schemes for corporate clients. Moving towards RDR, she successfully completed the Financial Planning Diploma in 2012 and joined us at MacKenzie Taylor Asset Management in July 2015.
When Carol is not running around after her 3 year old son, she enjoys going to concerts and reading.
Lianne has over 20 years experience with in the financial services industry and has managed many projects and administration teams. She established her career as a Sales Support Administrator for a large multinational insurance group many moons ago and soon progressed to managing administration teams and operations within each business.
Lianne has achieved the Chartered Insurance Institute's Certificate in Administration and continues to expand her knowledge within the industry on an ongoing basis. She is also our Compliance Oversight (SMF16) and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (SMF17). Lianne was instrumental in the setup of Mackenzie Taylor Asset Management and ensures that targets and service level agreements are met continually. She also oversees the office and its many operations, systems and processes with mind blowing efficiency!!
In her spare time, Lianne likes to go walking with her dog Ruby and loves spending time with family and friends. She has also been known to disappear on the odd (but well earned) spa weekend.
